purpose is to enhance the capacity of Commonwealth Small States and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to engage effectively with the UN human rights mechanisms, including the Human Rights Council (HRC), Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism and Treaty Bodies (TBs) and to that end, strengthen their national frameworks. Effective member state engagement with UN human rights mechanisms will lead to their enhanced voice and increased visibility. It will enable them to further strengthen their overall partnership with these mechanisms, and benefit from constructive recommendations to improve conditions at the national level for increased human rights promotion and protection. Strengthened national frameworks will provide the necessary policy frameworks and a platform to monitor and report on the implementation of UN recommendations at the national level. \n\nTrade: \nThe project’s purpose is to strengthen the capacity of Commonwealth Small States (CSS) to engage more effectively in negotiations on existing and new and emerging trade issues at the WTO and facilitate their fuller integration and participation in the multilateral trading system. Small States rely heavily on international trade as a driver of growth and development, and deeper integration into the multilateral trading system will help expand trade and investment opportunities, including within the Commonwealth. It provides technical assistance and capacity development support to member countries to access climate finance for climate mitigation and adaptation through the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub (CCFAH).
