      "description_narrative":["RIOS uses earth observation coupled with environmental risk data to monitor informal settlements in Colombia.  \n\nThe project will help mitigate against the danger of loss of life arising from natural disasters in settlement areas and to support the re-housing of displaced people.  Informal settlements in Colombia have grown in response to urbanisation and decades of conflict.  This growth presents a major challenge in Colombia exacerbated by the natural hazards affecting these settlements.   \n\nThe Discovery Phase project undertaken in 2020-21 examined the technical feasibility of building a cloud-based platform to provide an operational monitoring capability to the Government and local municipalities in Colombia.
